Never Underestimate The Power Of Prayer

A Story about faith, belief and the power of prayer during those tough times in our lives.

A poorly dressed lady with a look of defeat on her face, walked into a grocery store. She approached the owner of the store in a most humble manner and asked if he would let her charge a few groceries. She softly explained that her husband was very ill and unable to work, they had seven children and they needed food.

The grocer scoffed at her and requested that she leave his store.
Visualizing the family needs, she said: "Please, sir! I will bring you the money just as soon as I can.". The Grocer told her he could not give her credit, as she did not have a charge account at his store.

Father Is Shocked When His Daughter Says This Horrifying Thing To Him.

A father put his 3 year old daughter to bed, told her a story and listened to her prayers which ended by saying: “God bless Mommy, God bless Daddy, God bless Grandma and goodbye Grandpa.”

The father asked, “Why did you say goodbye Grandpa?”

The little girl said, “I don’t know daddy, it just seemed like the thing to do.”

The next day grandpa died. The father thought it was a strange coincidence.

A few months later the father put the girl to bed and listened to her prayers which went like this: “God bless Mommy, God Bless Daddy and goodbye Grandma.” The next day the grandmother died.

“Holy Moley, thought the father, this kid is in contact with the other side.

Several weeks later when the girl was going to bed the dad heard her say: “God bless Mommy and goodbye Daddy.” He practically went into shock.

He couldn’t sleep all night and got up at the crack of dawn to go to his office. He was nervous as a cat all day, had lunch and watched the clock. He figured if he could get by until midnight he would be okay. He felt safe in the office, so instead of going home at the end of the day he stayed there, drinking coffee, looking at his watch and jumping at every sound.

Finally, midnight arrived, he breathed a sigh of relief and went home. When he got home his wife said, “I’ve never seen you work so late, what’s the matter?”

He said, “I don’t want to talk about it, I’ve just spent the worst day of my life.”

She said, “You think you had a bad day? You’ll never believe what happened to me. This morning the mailman dropped dead on our porch!”

If There Is Someone You Can’t Get Out Of Your Mind

If there's someone you cannot get out of your mind, whisper a prayer for them, that's how God moves.

When someone’s name crosses your mind. Stop for a moment and say a little prayer. You never know that they may need the help from an angel at that moment. ~ Marie Spencer

There are experiences in life we look back on and experience grief. We do make mistakes and the consequences can be very painful. The pain is part of the healing. Slowly we reach inside and build the strength and courage to move forward with trust that armed with our new wisdom and growth we will face the future in such a manner that we will attract new and better experiences and people into our lives. The past cannot be changed but it never has to be re-lived. ~ Troy

People are on your mind for one reason or another. Some to whisper a prayer for them, some to send positive thoughts their way, and some because they’re thinking about you, too. ~ Cynthia Webb

There are two amazing places you can be.

There are two amazing places you can be... The nicest place to be in is someone's thoughts. The safest place to be in is someone's prayers.

“Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is daily admission of one's weakness. It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without a heart.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Prayer is a privilege and the soul's sincere desire. We can move beyond routine and 'checklist' prayers and engage in meaningful prayer as we appropriately ask in faith and act, as we patiently persevere through the trial of our faith, and as we humbly acknowledge and accept 'not my will, but Thine, be done.' ~ David A. Bednar

I pray every night, sometimes long prayers about a lot of things and a lot of people, but I don't talk about it or brag about it because that's between God and me, and I'm no better than anybody else in God's sight. ~ Peyton Manning

Sometimes, in the middle of your little mess

We all need to remember how big we are blessed. If you have family alive, you’re blessed. Today didn’t have to be perfect. Food could still be a little too done, people are allowed to be tired , or grumpy. The important thing is did they choose to spend some time with you? Or send you a text? Or an email? Did they make you part of their life today? If so, you are truly blessed. ~ Kate Faaborg

“When we lose one blessing, another is often most unexpectedly given in its place.” ~ C.S. Lewis

“Live your truth. Express your love. Share your enthusiasm. Take action towards your dreams. Walk your talk. Dance and sing to your music. Embrace your blessings. Make today worth remembering.” ~ Steve Maraboli

“Reflect upon your present blessings -- of which every man has many -- not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some.” ~ Charles Dickens

Stay Humble

“To share your weakness is to make yourself vulnerable; to make yourself vulnerable is to show your strength.” ― Criss Jami

“I like the scientific spirit—the holding off, the being sure but not too sure, the willingness to surrender ideas when the evidence is against them: this is ultimately fine—it always keeps the way beyond open—always gives life, thought, affection, the whole man, a chance to try over again after a mistake—after a wrong guess.” ― Walt Whitman

“It's okay to disagree with the thoughts or opinions expressed by other people. That doesn't give you the right to deny any sense they might make. Nor does it give you a right to accuse someone of poorly expressing their beliefs just because you don't like what they are saying. Learn to recognize good writing when you read it, even if it means overcoming your pride and opening your mind beyond what is comfortable.” ― Ashly Lorenzana

No matter how big your house is. How recent your car is. How big your bank is, our grace is still going to be the same size.
Stay humble.

Thankful

Being happy doesn't mean you have it all, it means being thankful to the Lord for all you have.

Build me a son, O Lord, who will be strong enough to know when he is weak, and brave enough to face himself when he is afraid, one who will be proud and unbending in honest defeat, and humble and gentle in victory.~ Douglas MacArthur

The time you spend alone with God will transform your character and increase your devotion. Then your integrity and godly behavior in an unbelieving world will make others long to know the Lord.~ Charles Stanley

If one has the answers to all the questions - that is the proof that God is not with him. It means that he is a false prophet using religion for himself. The great leaders of the people of God, like Moses, have always left room for doubt. You must leave room for the Lord, not for our certainties; we must be humble.~ Pope Francis

Sometimes God Doesn't Change Your Situation

“Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is daily admission of one's weakness. It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without a heart.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi

“The function of prayer is not to influence God, but rather to change the nature of the one who prays.”~ Søren Kierkegaard

“Prayer is not asking. Prayer is putting oneself in the hands of God, at His disposition, and listening to His voice in the depth of our hearts.” ~ Mother Teresa

“I have been driven many times upon my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had no where else to go. My own wisdom and that of all about me seemed insufficient for that day.” ~ Abraham Lincoln

Today I am so grateful that God knows my heart.

Today I am so grateful that God knows my heart.

Others may misunderstand my good intentions,
judge my words or deeds, find fault, or blame
what they truly do not understand.

But God knows my heart. He knows
 I am learning, trying, endeavoring,
to be all He created me to be.

When I was knocked down

“The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi

“Life will break you. Nobody can protect you from that, and living alone won't either, for solitude will also break you with its yearning. You have to love. You have to feel. It is the reason you are here on earth. You are here to risk your heart. You are here to be swallowed up. And when it happens that you are broken, or betrayed, or left, or hurt, or death brushes near, let yourself sit by an apple tree and listen to the apples falling all around you in heaps, wasting their sweetness. Tell yourself you tasted as many as you could.” ~ Louise Erdrich

Life isn’t about rise or fall. It’s about how you stood up each time when they put you down and making the best of what you think that would crash you down. There’s always a bright side of life. ~ Jhoyze Malimban Visto

When we feel incomplete

“When we feel incomplete, we might search for somebody to complete us. When, after a few years or a few months of a relationship, we find that we’re still unfulfilled, we may blame our partners and take up with somebody more promising. This can go on and on until we admit that while a partner can add sweet dimensions to our lives, we, each of us, are responsible for our own fulfillment.”~ Tom Robbins

We should certainly use what inner resources we have but it’s not true or right to think we are ultimately alone and of little use to others. A healthy relationship brings the gift of sharing our troubles and supporting each other throughout the ever-changing journey of life. We should never underestimate the power and value of visibly caring for and cherishing our loved ones, even a kind word or good deed for a stranger can make a big difference. These are difficult times for many so it’s important to remind ourselves that we get what we give and together we are stronger. ~ Tommy Cowap

Amen

It’s been a long day and tonight I have a lot on my mind. As I go to sleep, can I leave all my troubles with you?

God V/S Parents

God V/S Parents
He gave me life,
They taught me to live.
He gave me heart,
They taught me to love.
He gave me tongue,
They taught me to be soft spoken.
He gave me happiness,
They taught me to double .
He gave me sorrows,
They taught me to divide
He gave me puzzle,
They taught me to solve.
He gave me success,
They taught me to progress.
He gave me a gift,
and I am proud to call them
“MY PARENTS”

God is the best listener ...

God is the best listener and you don’t need to shout, nor cry out loud. Because he hears even the very silent prayer of a sincere heart.

Quit banging on a closed door.

If God shuts a door, quit banging on it! Whatever was behind it, wasn’t meant for you. Consider the fact that maybe he closed that door because He knew you were worth so much more.

Always be concerned

Always be concerned with what God thinks about you than what people think about you.

Engineer dies and reports :P

An engineer dies and reports to the pearly gates.

St. Peter checks his dossier and says, “Ah, you’re an engineer, you’re in the wrong place.”

So the engineer reports to the gates of hell and is let in.

Pretty soon, the engineer gets dissatisfied with the level of comfort in hell, and starts designing and building improvements. After a while, they’ve got air conditioning, flush toilets and escalators, the engineer is becoming a pretty popular guy.

One day, God calls Devil up on the telephone and asks with a sneer, “So, how’s it going down there in hell?”

Devil replies, “Hey, things are going great. We’ve got air conditioning, flush toilets and escalators, lets see what this engineer is going to come up with next.”

God replies, “What??? You’ve got an engineer? That’s a mistake “he should never have gone down there, send him up here.”

Devil says, “No way! I like having an engineer on the staff, and I’m keeping him.”

God says, “Send him back up here or I’ll sue.”

Devil laughs uproariously and answers, “Yeah right and just where are you going to get a lawyer, when all of them are here”.

God allows all things to happen for valid reasons

God allows all things to happen for valid reasons. Some will be revealed to us, some won’t. We need not to seek nor understand those reasons, but to have faith in His wisdom.

Any relationship is a blessing

Any relationship is a blessing that comes without conditions or expectations. Whether forever or for a season, God puts and removes people in your life for a reason.

We all have our days where we feel we can't survive.

We all have our days where
we feel we can't survive.
Sometimes dreams are shattered,
Friendship may fall apart.
Loved one's may hurt us.
Finances may worry us.
Sickness may overtake us.
We may even lose people we
love. But God will ALWAYS
be there to guide us through even
the toughest of times. Never lose
FAITH. Hold onto HOPE.
TRUST in GOD ALWAYS!
