Being Strong

“All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.”
― J.R.R. Tolkien

Sometimes, being strong is to forgive in the name of love, to make someone smile when our own heart is broken, to comfort a friend when we ourselves needed help and to keep faith when we have lost hope. ~ Brigitte Nicole

To make someone smile when your own heart is broken because that person’s happiness is more important than my own.

True love is not a strong, fiery, impetuous passion. It is, on the contrary, an element calm and deep. It looks beyond mere externals, and is attracted by qualities alone. It is wise and discriminating, and its devotion is real and abiding. ~ Ellen G. White

Letting go of someone dear to you

Letting go of someone dear to you is hard but holding on to someone who doesn't even feel the same is much Harder.

It is always more difficult to hold on to someone who does not feel the same. In the long run the best decision made is letting go of someone who does not feel the same for us. We all deserve to be with someone who in return wants to be with us. ~ Oscar Perdomo

The first step towards healing is to ask yourself, “For what reason am I holding onto this person? What am I getting out of holding on? What do I fear will happen if I let go?” ~ Blair Robinson

“The truth is, unless you let go, unless you forgive yourself, unless you forgive the situation, unless you realize that the situation is over, you cannot move forward.” ― Steve Maraboli

“If you want to forget something or someone, never hate it, or never hate him/her. Everything and everyone that you hate is engraved upon your heart; if you want to let go of something, if you want to forget, you cannot hate.” ~ C. JoyBell C.
