Thankful

Being happy doesn't mean you have it all, it means being thankful to the Lord for all you have.

Build me a son, O Lord, who will be strong enough to know when he is weak, and brave enough to face himself when he is afraid, one who will be proud and unbending in honest defeat, and humble and gentle in victory.~ Douglas MacArthur

The time you spend alone with God will transform your character and increase your devotion. Then your integrity and godly behavior in an unbelieving world will make others long to know the Lord.~ Charles Stanley

If one has the answers to all the questions - that is the proof that God is not with him. It means that he is a false prophet using religion for himself. The great leaders of the people of God, like Moses, have always left room for doubt. You must leave room for the Lord, not for our certainties; we must be humble.~ Pope Francis

Sometimes God Doesn't Change Your Situation

“Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is daily admission of one's weakness. It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without a heart.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi

“The function of prayer is not to influence God, but rather to change the nature of the one who prays.”~ Søren Kierkegaard

“Prayer is not asking. Prayer is putting oneself in the hands of God, at His disposition, and listening to His voice in the depth of our hearts.” ~ Mother Teresa

“I have been driven many times upon my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had no where else to go. My own wisdom and that of all about me seemed insufficient for that day.” ~ Abraham Lincoln

Life can be difficult at times

“The thing about life is that you must survive. Life is going to be difficult, and dreadful things will happen. What you do is move along, get on with it, and be tough. Not in the sense of being mean to others, but being tough with yourself and making a deadly effort not to be defeated.” ~ Katharine Hepburn

I find being compassionately loving towards myself now that the storms are over is a definite must. I do this by forgiving and loving myself and others and by coming to a full understanding that my struggles made me who I am today and I have gained so much insight and wisdom. But during my most difficult turbulent times, I had to be tough on myself and dig deep into my well of self severe battle, because I wouldn’t of survived. I wouldn’t be here today, alive. ~ Brigitte Nicole
