Many of the things that we do daily were taught to us at a young age, but as it turns out many of those things that we all seem to do the same way are actually not the right way to do them at all.
Prepare to have your mind blown because here are 10 everyday things you’ve been doing wrong.
1. WEARING EARBUDS
The best way to keep earbuds in your ear is to loop them from behind your ear and down, so that part of the cord runs over your ear. It may seem odd at first considering that this is your first time, but it will stop the cords from being pulled out of your ear when they sway too much or get snagged on something.
2. HOLDING A DRINK
It’s best to hold the glass by the stem or flute, as it is officially called. Especially, if you happen to be drinking sparkling wine or white wine. Don’t cup the bottom of a wine glass, which most of us do instinctively. Your hands conduct heat, therefore your hands affect the temperature of the drink. Warming wine actually changes the flavor, so start drinking properly, people.
3. MICROWAVING
To heat food more evenly, don’t stack everything in the middle. Instead spread food around the rim of the plate in the shape of a doughnut. When microwaving very dry foods, try putting a cup of water in with it to keep the food moist.
If you want to cook faster and put more than one bowl in the microwave, put one of them on the side, and the other on a mug next to it. Two for one heating.
4. POOPING
You’re pooping wrong. Yup. If you’re like most people, you sit perfectly on the ring of the toilet seat to do your business. But that position is not ideal. Our bodies are actually designed to go number two easier while squatting. Squatting makes elimination faster, easier and more complete. This helps prevent fecal stagnation and toxin accumulation in intestinal tract, a prime factors in colon cancer, appendicitis and inflammatory bowel disease. Squatting also relaxes the puborectalis muscle which normally chokes the rectum in order to maintain continence.
5. YOU TRY JAMMING YOUR HAND IN THE PRINGLES CAN, OR POURING IT OUT TO GET TO YOUR CHIPS.
Here’s the right way to do it: Fold up a piece of paper into a sleeve, and slip it into the can alongside the chips. Then tilt the can and pull the paper sleeve out to get at your chips much more cleanly.
6. PEELING AND HOLDLNG A BANANA
Just pinch the bottom end of the banana where the hard bit is, make a quarter-turn and pull
back to pull the skin away.
7. YOU HOLD YOUR BURGER WITH ONE HAND WHEN YOU EAT IT.
Here’s the right way to do it: Your thumbs and pinkies belong on the bottom of the burger. The rest of your fingers stay on top. This way, the toppings will never slip out again.
8. HOLDING A PIZZA CORRECTLY
A pizza should always be held by folding it a little to make a U-shape so as to prevent it from flopping over.
9. YOU PUT YOUR ROLL ON THE WALL WITH THE FREE END ON THE INSIDE.
Here’s the right way to do it: The free end belongs on the outside of the roll. Look, the original patent from1891 even says that’s the right way to do it.
10. FREEZING YOUR DRINK QUICKLY
Thought putting your drink solely in the freezer’s the only option? Nope! Put a wet kitchen roll around the drink and then put it in the freezer will make the drink cold enough in 15 minutes! Source
