Be your own best friend

“I’ve been stabbed in the back by those I needed most. I’ve been lied to by those I love. And I have felt alone when I couldn’t afford to be. But at the end of the day I had to learn to be my own best friend because there’s going to be days where no-one is going to be there for me but myself.”

Release emotions of the past that no longer serve you. Connect with your generous and compassionate spirit. Be thankful for the growth that comes from forgiveness. Live in the present and with an open heart. ~ Creig Crippen

I've been lied to by those I love. And I have felt alone when I couldn't afford to be. But at the end of the day, I don't think this is sad at all. It's a hard lesson, but once you get it your ability to love yourself is so strong you are able to appreciate those really great people in your life so much more. That's been my experience anyway, but I'm a hard core optimist.

The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself. — Friedrich Nietzsche

“Art and life really are the same, and both can only be about a spiritual journey, a path towards a re-union with a supreme creator, with god, with the divine; and this is true no matter how unlikely, how strange, how unorthodox, one’s particular life path might appear to one’s self or others at any given moment.”– Genesis P-Orridge
