Learn How To Impress People Within Five Minutes Of Conversation.

Good looks, good income, etc. Are all this enough? In spite of all these qualities, many people are still clueless on how to impress people. What is the point in good education when you don’t know how to draw people’s attention!. Don’t worry people!. Here are some easy tips on how to impress people in just 5 minutes of conversation.

1. FOR GOD’S SAKE, WEAR GOOD SHOES!

People make shoe contact before eye contact. If your footwear is disappointing, there’s no use of that perfect shirt or that pretty dress.Winners start from the bottom right? So? Start with footwear first. Trust me! This always helps.

2. LOOK INTO THEIR EYES WHILE TALKING

Your eyes can reveal many aspects of your personality. Whether you are confident or you are hiding something can be easily revealed from your eyes. If you can hold someone’s gaze, you are more likely to connect with them on a personal level.

3. GET RID OF BORING CONVERSATION.

Instead of sticking to the age-old questions, try playing on words and make your question interesting.
Instead of:Try Saying
How are you? What’s new with you?
How was your day?How are you today?
Where are you from? What’s interesting about where you grew up?
What do you do? Where do you work? What’s interesting about your job?
What’s your name? What does your name mean?
How was your holiday? What was interesting about your holiday?
How was your weekend? What was the best part of your weekend?

4. KNOW WHAT’S GOING ON AROUND

Those who are updated with the current events can easily impress people. You don’t have to know about everything in every field and sound like a “know-it-all”, but being current and updated with the latest news and including it in your conversation can also impress people!

5. BREAKING THE MIRROR

A situation which usually develops when your conversation is going bad which is referred as” mirror”.
Initiate a conversation. Sometimes we either just agree or repeat the words which make a conversation boring.
The mirrored example:
James: It’s a beautiful day!
John: Yes, it is a beautiful day!
This is terrible.
By mirroring James’ opinion and language, John has followed the social norm, but he’s also paralyzed the discussion and missed a moment of fun.
Here’s a much less terrible, non-mirrored convo:
James: It’s a beautiful day!
John: They say that the weather was just like this when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. If that actually happened.
While strange, it’s effective. Now James and John have something to talk about.
Instead of :
Ron: How was your flight?
Carlos: My flight was good!
Beverly: It’s hot today.
Gino: Yeah, it sure is hot.
Riz: What’s up?
Keil: Hey, what’s up?
Try:
Ron: How was your flight?
Carlos: I’d be more intrigued by an airline where your ticket price was based on your body weight and IQ.
Beverly: It’s hot today.
Gino: In this dimension, yes.
Riz: What’s up?
Keil: Washing your chicken just splatters the bacteria everywhere.

6. GIVE A GENUINE COMPLIMENT

Everybody loves receiving compliments, I mean who would not? Give unique and specific compliments.
It makes the person feel good about you and themselves. But please, Don’t go with the usual “Oh your eyes!”, “I like your smile.” etc, if they are really good looking, they are probably hearing this for the millionth time! And while complimenting do not overdo yourself and sound like a flirt.

7. AVOID BEING OVER FRIENDLY OR PRETEND TO BE SOMEONE THAT YOU’RE NOT.

“Always be the first rate version of yourself than being the second rate version of someone else.”
Now this varies from situation to situation.
In a job interview, DON’T be yourself!
For a date, be yourself. Make the person feel comfortable in your company.
Go ahead, be bold. Upend the dinner table conversation! Turn small talk into big ideas at the wedding reception you’re forced to attend! You never know which ideas will be worth spreading next. Source
